Who did you say you were?
Choma... Kris Choma.
I’m a professional copywriter and copy editor with over 20 years of experience in advertising and marketing. I’ve written web videos, web sites, web pages, microsites, infographics, manifestos, web ads, copy for apps, emails, tweets, FB and Insta posts, FSIs, billboards, in-store displays, retail circulars, posters, articles, letters and speeches for C-suite executives, radio commercials, podcast spots, and a couple of TV commercials.
Oh, and the occasional short story, novella, and haiku. And there might also be a novel in the works. There might not. Who’s to say, really?
I believe in the power of the written and spoken word, and I will always believe there’s a critical need for critical thinking in creative work. I believe in supporting and lifting up my team — and sharing the credit when things go right. I don’t believe in letting things go wrong if there’s anything that can be done to prevent it.
Despite the fact that I find myself on the business end of a 19,000-employee layoff, I continue to believe that hard work, dedication, and thoughtful words and deeds are the keys to success. I believe in playing nice with everyone — that means no backstabbing, no double-dealing, no skullduggery of any kind. A good creative doesn’t need that stuff, and a good person wouldn’t do it regardless.
Finally, I believe in having fun. The best teams I’ve worked with are the ones that enjoyed each other’s company — and had fun working together through even the most not-fun projects. It really does feel like being part of a family, and I can’t wait to join a great one.
